I recently had an issue with my brand-new furnace, installed just two months ago, and called AA Service for assistance. The technician diagnosed the problem as a failed inducer motor, stating that it wasn’t spinning and needed replacement. He also noted that the output pipe was disconnected and claimed to find metal and PVC debris from the installation, suggesting this could have caused the motor failure. For safety reasons, he turned off the furnace entirely.
Shortly after, I received a quote for the motor replacement totaling $1,100. However, two days later, I turned the furnace back on, and it functioned perfectly. I also inspected the unit myself and found that the inducer motor was spinning without any issues. This leads me to believe that the original diagnosis was incorrect, potentially intended to justify an expensive repair.
Additionally, the technician included irrelevant observations in the invoice, seemingly unrelated to the actual problem. This appears to have been done to justify shutting down my furnace completely. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend their services. (Additionally, on the call they were asking $90 yet the technician was trying to charge me $150)
