The service technician explained that the cause was the heat building up inside the furnace due to the restricted filter. However, I would have appreciated it if he could also explain the condition of this somewhat older furnace for future reference. Additionally, I would feel more inclined to request AA Service again next time if the service technician had a slightly friendlier attitude.
