Our History

AA Service Co. began in 1965 with a simple mission: to offer honest, high-quality service to our neighbors. Through decades of hard work and a commitment to evolving with technology, we have grown into a leading home service company. For over 50 years, we have adapted to the changing needs of homeowners, embracing new technologies in furnace efficiency, A/C performance, and smart home electrical systems. How We've Been Growing
About AA Service Co.’s Growth
To best serve your home comfort needs, and to share the AA Service Co. experience with more customers, AA Service Co. has been growing.
In May of 2022, AA Service Co. acquired K. Lowe Plumbing, a full-service residential and light commercial plumbing company specializing in service plumbing, water conditioning, sump pump systems, water heater systems, and general plumbing service needs. The K. Lowe Plumbing team created the base for what is now the AA Service Co. Plumbing Department. That team continues to grow and expand and has been a wonderful addition to AA Service Co.’s customer offering.
In June of 2022, AA Service Co. acquired a prominent Libertyville HVAC installation and service contractor. This company’s team had been servicing the North Shore area since 1967, and specialized in the residential HVAC marketplace with an emphasis on Unico High Velocity Small Duct Systems, Hydronic Boiler Systems, and traditional HVAC systems. Their addition to the AA Service Co. team further enhanced our HVAC team and our service offering. This acquisition allowed us to increase our geographic territory from Southeastern Wisconsin to Chicago.
In May of 2023, AA Service Co. acquired another prominent Northbrook HVAC installation and service contractor. This company’s team had been servicing the North Shore and Chicago area since 1985, and also specialized in the residential HVAC marketplace with an emphasis on Unico High Velocity Small Duct Systems, Hydronic Boiler Systems, and traditional HVAC systems. Their addition to the AA Service Co. team further enhanced our HVAC team and our service offering.
In August of 2023, AA Service Co. acquired Carlson Heating, Cooling & Electric. This company’s team had been servicing the Glenview and surrounding North Shore area since 1955, and had a strong and loyal following of great customers. We have truly found a perfect match when acquiring Carlson; they had an outstanding team that uniquely shared our values and strategic vision. Their family’s three-generations of commitment to excellent service, together with AA Service Company’s strong reputation and skilled technicians, ensured a great match that will continue to deliver and expand the exceptional quality products and services that their loyal customers have grown accustomed to over their 68 years of business.
While the names of these companies have changed, the dedication and professionalism of their original team members have not. Kevin Lowe, Josh Henrich, Kelly Henrich-Covert, Dan Banczak, Daryl Carlson, MJ Carlson, and all their team members continue in key roles on the AA Service Co. team. This expanded team will continue to service all of their great customers while working with AA Service Co. General Manager Shawn Mansfield to ensure that we all continue to deliver the 5-Star experience each customer deserves, with the same brand and level of customer service and commitment. This team can now boast a combined 252 years of business success, and that can only make our customer experience better.
In 2024, AA Service Co. proudly welcomed Tangney & Sons to our growing family of trusted home service companies. For more than 20 years, Tangney & Sons built a strong reputation for dependable plumbing and sewer services, earning the loyalty of homeowners through quality workmanship and a customer-first approach. Their commitment to honest service and skilled craftsmanship made them a natural fit for the AA Service Company team. Together, under the leadership of General Manager Shawn Mansfield, we will continue the tradition of excellence that Tangney & Sons established while providing customers with additional resources, faster response times, and expanded home comfort solutions. Tangney & Sons memberships and warranties will continue to be honored, ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining the trusted service customers have relied on for decades.
In 2024, AA Service Co. also welcomed Ahrens & Condill Heating & Air Conditioning to our family of trusted home service companies. For nearly 80 years, Ahrens & Condill earned the trust of homeowners through reliable heating and cooling services, exceptional craftsmanship, and a strong commitment to customer care. By joining forces with AA Service Company, customers continue to receive the same dependable HVAC service they have relied on, now supported by a larger team and expanded expertise that includes plumbing, sewer, and electrical services. Together with General Manager Shawn Mansfield and the AA Service Co. team, we are proud to carry forward Ahrens & Condill’s long-standing tradition of excellence while providing greater resources, faster response times, and comprehensive home service solutions. Existing memberships and warranties will continue to be honored, ensuring a smooth transition and the same high level of service customers expect.
Beginning May 1, 2025, AA Service Co. will proudly support Chicago homeowners previously served by Althoff Home Services for residential HVAC and plumbing. As Althoff transitions away from providing these services within the city of Chicago, they have entrusted AA Service Company to continue caring for their valued customers. At AA Service Co., we are honored to carry on the tradition of quality service that Althoff built, providing reliable heating, cooling, plumbing, and additional home services with the same commitment to professionalism and customer care. Customer account details, service history, and equipment records have been securely transferred to ensure a smooth transition. White Glove Club memberships will remain active through their original expiration dates, and all existing warranties will continue to be fully honored. Led by General Manager Shawn Mansfield, our team of licensed and highly rated technicians is ready to provide dependable service and support for all your home comfort needs.
